Books I read during the final year of medical college at AIIMS

 If you want to make your journey of entry into U.K. post graduation training easy, the best tip is to improve on your final year subjects’ knowledge.

Most of the post graduate entry level exams in the U.K. are focused on clinical subjects. This is unlike the great weightage of questions from the pre-clinical subjects in USMLEs.

Internal Medicine

A. Harrison’s principles of Internal medicine

I read most of the internal medicine from here. For students who do not have time to read this, go for the short version of Harrison’s : Link to the book

A. The Washington Manual of Surgery

B. Manipal Manual of Surgery

I found this book towards the end of my final year in medical college . This is one of the best books written in surgery and covers a lot of different topics.

C. Bailey & Love’s Short Practice of Surgery

When I finished most of the topics from this book, I realized that the authors of this book have made it really concise , taking away important information. I do no recommend reading it .

A. Textbook of obstetrics by Dr. J.B. Sharma

Hats off to the author. This is the best gynecology book I have ever read.
