It is advisable to work in a non-training medical job in the NHS before going for a training post as it helps you get a better idea of the system.
When should you apply for IMT 2021 post?
There are two rounds of application .
Round 1
The post opens on Thursday 5 November 2020 (10.00am, UK time) and will close on Tuesday 1 December 2020 (4pm, UK time).
Round 2
Due to COVID-19 pandemic, it is currently being determined whether round 2 will go ahead this year and if so when it will be.
If you wish to be considered for an IMT post starting in 2021, you are advised to apply in round 1 as it cannot be guaranteed if round 2 will go ahead, and there are always substantially fewer programmes available in this round, so you will have a much greater chance if you apply in round 1.
