6 Tips To Enhance Your CV

A very commonly asked question asked everywhere is about how you can improve your CV.

My top 6 tips for the same are :

Do more work

Do more work in the field you are interested in going for.

For example, get additional degrees, certifications, and courses to show your interest in a specialty.

There is no substitute for persistent hard work.
This will reflect in your CV through its substance.

And, never ever.. ever.. fabricate facts in your CV.

Keep it simple

Do not use very fancy flashy fonts or colorful templates.

Simplicity is the best designing approach for an impressive CV.

Make it easy to read and make sense of.

Keep it short

Do not try to lengthen your CV with unnecessary information, just for the sake of it.

You do not need to put the details of the handwriting competition you won in your school in class 5.

Keep the length to 1 to 2 pages.

Learn to design or seek professionals help

Learning to design is a huge add on to your skillset to use in all aspects of your life.

If not, use professional CV making software.

I used Zety for some time to design my CV. Although it is not 100% customizable, it is a good place to enhance your CV aesthetically.

Take advice from others (friends in Management/ Tech or your senior colleagues)

People in non-medical branches have a better idea of designing CVs and resumes as they have their placement dependant on these.

It is sometimes a good idea to seek help from them.

You should also get your CV reviewed by senior colleagues in the field of work you want to get into.

Keep it focused

You should tailor your CV according to the job post you are going for.

E.g. If you are applying for a surgical job, keep your surgical CV bits at first.
